At Murphy Family Law, our mission is to provide superior legal representation and education to clients with complex family law problems and assist clients seeking alternatives to litigation in solving their family law issues.
A down to earth family law firm dedicated to pragmatic legal advice and representation, we specialize in nuanced family law issues, provide alternative dispute resolution and mediation services, and offer premarital counseling and drafting of prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and postnuptial agreements.
We Practice Wherever You Are
As a result of changes in the legal industry due to the pandemic, we are able to practice in many remote regions of the Northstate, including making court appearances without ever needing to physically travel. The COVID-19 pandemic transformed the way courts in many jurisdictions operate, and many courts have permanently adopted changes that allow for parties and attorneys to make remote appearances via Zoom, CourtCall, and other remote appearance methods. Remote appearance methods have become so common clients are able to take advantage of effective legal representation without impairment to their case or paying their attorney to travel to the courthouse.
Our office is quasi-virtual. What that means is that while we maintain a physical office, all of our in-person visits are by appointment only, as staff and the attorney frequently work remotely, or may be participating in a remote hearing, and may not be regularly available to meet with you in person. We encourage our clients to take advantage of our telephonic and audio visual (e.g. zoom) appointments so that you can meet us wherever you are, saving you time and hassle.
Murphy Family Law serves clients across the North State of California, principally the Tahoe Region (Nevada, Placer, and El Dorado Counties), the North Valley (Butte and Tehama Counties) and the Northeast regions (Plumas, Lassen, and Modoc Counties). Shawn also has extensive experience practicing in Sacramento, Amador, and Yolo Counties.
